Hey readers, today is my stop on the Witchlands Blog tour! These amazing books are being released into some amazing hardcovers on the 8th October.
My post today is a review of the entire series and some possible fangirl moments. It may also contain some spoilers
The Witchlands series synopsis:
For the first time, experience the first three volumes of Susan Dennard’s New York Times bestselling Witchlands series–Truthwitch, Windwitch, and Bloodwitch–now together in the Witchlands Hard Cover Boxed Set.
Magic. Adventure. Romance. War. … Welcome to the Witchlands.
On a continent ruled by three empires, many people are born with a “witchery”, a magical skill that sets them apart from others. Some command the wind, some the water, some fire, some metal. And some can master the truth, or time, or even death itself.
Now, as war breaks loose and magic is dying, two young women–a Truthwitch and a Threadwitch–may hold the key to a centuries old prophecy that could control the world…if they can survive.
Safi and Iseult are one of my favourite pairings, the sister bond between them is solid and they would and will do anything for one another. Even if they are separated they still think of each and wonder what the other is doing.
Sooz’s writing is amazing. Not only does she write some amazing bonds between characters but as anyone who follows her on Twitter knows (#luminerds) she doesn’t need a lot of words to do it which makes every word count. Every word builds up until it paints you a picture of that world and you’re lost in the story.
These books deserve all the love and my review of Bloodwitch (5 stars) can be found here. You start with Truthwitch and make sure you don’t skip Sightwitch even though its not part of the set being released it is important to the story.
There are different types of magic flowing through this world that show things such as the bond between people or a blood link that can be used against you (Baeduan anyone). The system feels so intricate and detailed but also easy to understand. If anyone asks I’m pretty sure I’m a fire witch!
I feel like I don’t have the words for how much these books mean to me and how amazing they are. Also Sooz is an amazing human being who loves to interact with her readers.
So go forth readers and buy these hardcovers, I know I will be as soon as I’m off my book buying ban 😄
I’d love to hear if you plan on buying them or if you love these books as much as I do.
