ARC Book review: Schmuck the Buck

Thanks to EXO Books for the review copy. I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review, all opinons are my own.

I was super excited when I got the review request for this book. I had seen a couple of other bloggers talking about it and it looked really funny.

I love Christmas and it was great to finally do a review of a Christmas related book!

From Goodreads:

Larry was just your regular caribou, who was cruelly excluded from his crew. He and his kin happened to be the sole Jewish reindeer in the North Pole. Larry was bullied and treated the worst way, until his plan saved one Christmas Day.

A contemporary satirical take on Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, Schmuck the Buck introduces Larry, a young Jewish reindeer. He overcomes his awkward and sometimes painful youth to save Christmas. His tale of acceptance and inclusion is sure to warm the hearts of anyone who loves Christmas, Hanukkah, or both. Sixty pages of vibrant illustrations bring his story to life. A unique modern addition to any holiday library.

This was a fun book to read, not too long, full of colour and humour. This story is about Schmuck the Buck or Larry and his journey working for Santa at the North Pole. He is constantly picked on and belittled and never gets anywhere until one day he gets his chance to shine.

I really enjoyed this book, the illustrations are fantastic with a lot of detail and the story is one of those tales that makes you laugh while imparting a moral and wisdom. It is a fun read with a twist of morality and it brings out the Christmas Spirit in all how read it. Plus when you see the illustrations you just can’t look away.

I can’t talk enough about how much I enjoyed this book and how it made me laugh. Please go out and read it as it is just the book to get you in the mood for Christmas!

I gave Schmuck the Buck 4 stars. Let me know what you think of it!
